Saim Ayub PSL vs Abhishek Sharma IPL earnings comparison

Pakistan’s emerging opener cum batting allrounder Saim Ayub is the most expensive Pakistani player in the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The southpaw is playing for Hyderabad Kingsmen (HHK) for PKR 12.60 crore (INR 4.28 crore approx.).

However, Ayub has not been able to justify the price tag. In 12 innings, the southpaw has scored just 204 runs at an underwhelming average of 18.54 and a strike rate of 122.89. What’s more disappointing for his fans is that he hasn’t been able to cross the fifty-run mark even once this season.

His bowling figures are not anything to write home about either. He has claimed six wickets across 11 innings at an economy rate of 8.15 and conceded 53 runs on average to claim every wicket. His overall career numbers in the PSL are much more impressive.

In 52 games, the 23-year-old has accumulated 1178 runs at an average of 23.09 and a strike rate of 141.07. He also has eight fifties. The wily spinner has also claimed 20 wickets at an economy rate of 8.08. Ayub has one last opportunity left to make amends this season as Kingsmen are set to meet Peshawar Zalmi in the final of the PSL on Sunday, May 3, in Lahore.

Abhishek Sharma’s earnings in IPL 2026

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma is already an established star in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Just two years older than Ayub, Abhishek has set IPL 2026 on fire with his superlative batting performances. Not only has he been scoring at the rate of knots, Abhishek has also been fairly consistent in terms of his returns.

He has racked up 425 runs in nine games this season at an average of 53.12 and an eye-popping strike rate of 209.35. He has smashed three fifties and his best score of 135* came against Delhi Capitals. Overall, Abhishek has notched up over 2200 runs in 86 IPL games at an average of 29.88 and a strike rate of 170.15. He has also registered two hundreds and 12 fifties to his name. Abhishek is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) this season and is getting paid INR 14 crore by the franchise.
