Spencer Johnson stole the spotlight in Australia’s commanding seven‑wicket win over Bangladesh in the third T20I, sealing a 3-0 series whitewash. The left‑arm quick was simply unplayable, producing astonishing figures of 4-0-6-2 that left Towhid Hridoy’s side in tatters.
Johnson’s spell of 2/6 now stands as the most economical four‑over performance ever recorded by an Australian in men’s T20Is.

In doing so, he eclipsed the mark set by Billy Stanlake, whose fiery 4/8 against Pakistan in 2018 had long been the benchmark. Stanlake’s effort came during the Zimbabwe T20 Tri‑Series in Harare, where he dismantled Pakistan’s top order, dismissing Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Hussain Talat, and Sarfaraz Ahmed to set up a nine‑wicket win.
What makes Johnson’s feat even more remarkable is the turnaround from his previous outing. Just two days earlier in the second T20I, he endured a nightmare spell, leaking 39 runs in two overs and being denied the chance to finish his quota.

| Cameron Boyce | 2/10 | Pakistan | 2014 |
| Brad Hogg | 1/11 | Pakistan | 2012 |
| Pat Cummins | 1/11 | South Africa | 2014 |

Reflecting on the contrast, Johnson emphasised the importance of adapting to conditions in Bangladesh:
“It is always nice to contribute to the team’s win. Bouncing back from the other day and wrapping up the series 3-0 is probably what was most important,” Johnson said after Australia’s 3-0 T20I series win. “I did not have a great day a couple of days ago, but I am happy with how today went.”
“Coming here in these conditions, and the wickets can vary so much. We saw that in the ODIs and we have seen that here,” he said. “Adapting to the conditions to walk away with a 3-0 series win makes us very happy.”
