After losing three games on the bounce Delhi Capitals (DC) returned to winning ways as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in match No. 43 of the ongoing IPL season. Delhi Capitals finally managed to break the rut as they were clearly struggling to conjure a win. The game was as challenging as any for Capitals. Though they were bolstered by the addition of Mitchell Starc to their playing XI, they still ended up conceding 225.
Starc made a return to competitive cricket for the first time in three months. His last outing came for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League (BBL) final against Perth Scorchers on January 25. Starc was then forced off the sidelines due to a shoulder and an elbow injury. He joined Delhi after the scans cleared him from any injury concerns, and he was green-lit by Cricket Australia (CA) to fly to India.
The left-arm seamer conceded 40 runs on his return, at 10 an over. Though he was a touch expensive, he bagged the prized scalps of Riyan Parag (90 off 50) alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja. It was largely due to his efforts that Delhi managed to keep Rajasthan to 225.
