Jos Buttler has become the 10th player to score a T20I hundred against India, reaching the milestone in the fifth match of the ongoing series at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on July 11. The former England captain produced a breathtaking display of power hitting, smashing 131 off just 64 balls.
His innings included 12 fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 204.68. Buttler combined with skipper Harry Brook to add 233 runs for the second wicket, the biggest partnership ever recorded against India in T20Is. The pair narrowly missed out on setting the all‑time record for the highest partnership in T20Is, falling just four runs short of the 236 added by Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani for Afghanistan against Ireland in Dehradun in 2019.

For Buttler, this century marks a significant revival of his T20I career. He had been struggling for a long time to produce a defining knock, and this innings not only silences doubts but also reassures the England management that the veteran still has plenty to offer at the highest level.
