Ayesha Zafar’s record-breaking hundred helped Pakistan women pulverise Zimbabwe women in the first of the three-match T20I series at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on May 12. Zafar recorded the fastest hundred by a Pakistan player in WT20Is, taking just 47 balls to reach the three-figure mark.
The 31-year-old shattered Muneeba Ali’s record. Muneeba had smashed a 66-ball hundred against Ireland at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023 in Cape Town. It was also the first-ever ton registered by a Pakistan player in WT20Is. The southpaw smashed another hundred against Ireland, this time taking 68 balls to reach the milestone in Dublin on August 10 last year.

Zafar’s 47-ball hundred is the joint-third-fastest in WT20Is, alongside Laura Wolvaardt (SA-W vs IND-W, Johannesburg, 2026) and Tammy Beaumont (ENG-W vs SA-W, Taunton, 2018). Former Australia captain Alyssa Healy is second on the elite chart. She had scored a 46-ball ton against Sri Lanka women in Sydney in 2019.

Renowned as the World Boss, Deandra Dottin holds the record for the fastest century ever recorded in a WT20I. Dottin took just 38 balls to reach the triple digits against South Africa in an ICC Women’s World Twenty20 encounter in Basseterre on May 5, 2010.
Pakistan register record win over Zimbabwe
Pakistan women hammered Zimbabwe women by a staggering margin of 153 runs in the first T20I after Zafar’s record hundred. This is Pakistan’s biggest win (by margin of runs) in WT20Is, beating their 147-run triumph over Malaysia women, which came on June 7, 2018.
