Virat Kohli is not only a great batter, but he is also one of the sharpest readers of the game. The legendary batter has nearly two decades of top-drawer cricketing experience. It not only helps him while batting in the middle but also allows him to guide youngsters in his camp and outside.
Despite his stature, Virat remains an easy-to-approach guy, and that’s what seemed convincing enough to Prince Yadav to approach the former RCB captain. Prince crossed paths with Virat for the first time this season when RCB hosted Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for match 23 of IPL 2026 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15.
The young LSG quick bowled his heart out, claiming 3/32 in his three overs. His three-wicket haul comprised the prized scalps of Jitesh Sharma, Phil Salt and the RCB skipper Rajat Patidar. However, Prince’s spell went in vain as RCB romped home with five wickets and 29 balls to spare.

Keen to improve and learn, Prince spoke with Virat after the game, and the latter gave him very powerful advice. But little did he know that his advice was going to lead to his own undoing.
How Virat Kohli’s advice to Prince Yadav cost him his own wicket?
When LSG hosted RCB for the reverse fixture at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 7, Prince was tasked to dismiss Virat, and the right-arm seamer did it with a beauty. A good length delivery, outside off, jagged back in sharply to uproot Virat’s off stump, and Prince was over the moon.
Prince replicated his performance and bagged another three-for as LSG beat RCB by nine runs (DLS).
While speaking to the host broadcaster after the game, Prince revealed the advice that Virat had shared, and it became evident how the former used it against him.
“After the last match, I was talking to Virat bhaiya, and he only told me – as long as it’s moving around off a length, stick to that length,” Prince said while talking about Virat’s dismissal.
