Team India have reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings after a comprehensive 3‑0 whitewash of Zimbabwe in a three‑match series. The Men in Blue were recently toppled by England, who had emerged as the No. 1 team in the shortest format after handing India a 4‑0 defeat on home turf.
India made their way back to the top by registering three clinical wins against the Chevrons. The reigning world champions won the first T20I by seven wickets, making light work of their 126‑run target and reaching it with 40 balls to spare.The second game at the Harare Sports Club also saw a domineering display from the visitors, who posted 219 for five before restricting the hosts to just 129 in 17.5 overs.

Zimbabwe put in an improved performance in the third and final T20I of the series on July 26, but it was not enough as they still lost by 35 runs chasing 193. Shreyas Iyer is a relieved man now, having not only broken his winless streak of seven games but also registered his maiden whitewash as captain of India’s T20I outfit.
India are tied on ratings (268) with England but are ahead on total points. India have accumulated 16,366 points, whereas England have 10,186. However, the two teams are separated by the barest of margins, and there could be a shift soon.
India’s next T20I tournament
India’s next T20I tournament will be the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. The competition will run from September 17 to October 4, featuring 10 teams in the men’s cricket event. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have earned direct entries into the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Oman, Nepal, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, and Afghanistan have been divided into two groups of three each.
