Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has acknowledged that there have been several ups and downs in the last four months but has vowed to give 100% for Team India. Sooryavanshi is part of the team currently in Zimbabwe for a three‑match T20I series, which starts on July 23 at the Harare Sports Club.
He earned his India debut during the recently concluded England tour but recorded a string of modest scores: 14, 13, and 15. He was left out of the fifth T20I in favour of Sanju Samson, whom he had previously replaced.

“Yes, there have been several ups and downs in the last four months; it’s part of cricket [and] it will keep happening, but I have to follow the process and give my 100% for the team,” Sooryavanshi told bcci.tv.
The teenage batting sensation said that the team management is doing everything in its capacity to provide him with the requisite practice.
“It’s an obvious thing that whatever I want [in terms of guidance and support], the coaches are making it available, and whatever practice I require I am getting that,” he said. “Feeling very good, there is confidence also.”

It was at the Harare Sports Club where Sooryavanshi smashed 175 off just 80 balls to help India beat England in the final of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup earlier this year. Therefore, the lad from Bihar is understandably chuffed to return to the same venue.
“It’s a very memorable ground for me,” Sooryavanshi said. “Just four months back, we had played the Under‑19 World Cup final and won, so a very special ground. To represent India is everyone’s dream, and it’s a very special moment. “I’m playing on a ground where we won the Under‑19 World Cup four months back and made history [and] to return to the ground and play here will be an altogether different feeling… really enjoying it. The pitches and the conditions here, I’ve got a fair idea about them from when I last played here during the Under‑19 World Cup. So, I will try to apply those learnings during the matches now and do well.
“I will back my practice, which I have done so far, and try to back my game… and whatever contribution I can make for the team I will try to give that. I have played two matches on this ground (and) it went well. I will try to carry it forward.”
