Australia to tour Bangladesh for white-ball series in June 2026

Australia are slated to tour Bangladesh for a white-ball series in June, comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is. The ODI leg of the tour will be played in Mirpur, Dhaka. The first, second and third ODIs will be played on June 9, 11 and 14, respectively.

The two teams will then travel to Chattogram for the T20I series. The T20I series opener will be held on June 17, followed by the second fixture on June 19 and the final game of the tour on June 21. There is no clarity whether there will be any day/night fixtures, as Bangladesh has put in place energy-saving measures to negate the impact of the ongoing crisis unfolding in West Asia, as much as possible.

This will only be Australia’s second T20I series in Bangladesh. The Aussies had previously toured the Asian nation for a five-match T20I series in 2021, winning it 4-1. As for the 50-over format, this will be Australia’s third bilateral ODI series in Bangladesh. They previously whitewashed Bangladesh in the two three-match ODI series in 2006 and 2011 under the captaincy of Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke, respectively.

Australia’s tour of Pakistan set to overlap with IPL 2026

Notably, Australia are slated to visit Pakistan for a three-match ODI series prior to their tour of Bangladesh. The timing of the series against Pakistan is expected to clash with the concluding stages of the ongoing 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After Bangladesh, Australia are slated to travel to Zimbabwe and South Africa for away tours. These two tours are expected to hold them in good stead and serve as a good prep for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, to be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Australia are the reigning ODI World Champions, having beaten India in the final of the previous edition in November 2023. Australia’s ODI cycle of 2026 will conclude with a home series against arch-rivals England.
